Senior Engineer

Divido, London πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ – (Jul 2021 - Present)

In Divido I had the chance to finally write production Golang code after a good while learning it and tinkering with it. I mostly developed integrations with third party lenders or banks. Also invested a lot of time in improving their development processes and tooling. I had the chance to mentor a lot of engineers and prepare presentations on Docker, PHP, testing, among other things. I invested a lot of time in automating some company processes (release, onboarding, among others) and was heavily involved in the Architectural decisions in our stack. I had the chance to lead one of our integrations with a Nordic bank.

PHP Developer

Spatialest, Coleraine πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ – (Mar 2020 - Jul 2021)

Along with my wife we moved to Coleraine, in Northern Ireland, to be closer to her family. I was offered a PHP Developer position in that city by the amazing people at Spatialest. I worked developing their new product for US Counties (in Laravel + React) that allowed property owners to appeal the valuation of their property online and keep track of their their cases. I mentored a few other developers, presented about Docker and other technologies, pushed for continuous integration and build a few libraries and solutions that are still being used.

Senior Developer

Option, Santiago πŸ‡¨πŸ‡± – (Feb 2019 - Feb 2020)

I was offered to come back to Option for one of the biggest projects ever done at the company: the development of the omnichannel e-commerce experience for Sky Airlines. Along with a team of another 15 people (QA, DevOps, Mobile Devs, Frontends, Backends, Scrum Masters and Product Owners) we developed a microservices-over-REST solution using Node JS. I was in charge of the Payment Gateway Manager: a REST service that managed integrated many different payment providers for the different markets that Sky Airlines was present on. This started my interest for the Financial / E-Commerce sector.
